Official Visit of Professor Dr Ahmed Sabah Nasser Al-Mulla to Shoura and the Muslim Community in Luxembourg (Gallery)
On Monday, 5 October and Tuesday, 6 October 2026, the Muslim community in Luxembourg had the honour of welcoming Professor Dr Ahmed Sabah Nasser Al-Mulla on an official visit. Professor Al-Mulla is a Kuwaiti scholar specialising in Islamic sciences, the principles of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh), and Islamic finance. He graduated from the Faculty of Sharia at Kuwait University and pursued his postgraduate studies at Cairo University. Throughout his academic and professional career, he has been dedicated to higher education, Islamic legal consultancy, and humanitarian work. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Hikma Kuwaiti Charitable Society (جمعية الحكمة الكويتية الخيرية).
On the first day of his visit, Professor Dr Al-Mulla explored the city of Luxembourg and discovered some of the activities of the Muslim community in the country. He performed the Dhuhr prayer at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Luxembourg in Mamer. In the early evening, an official reception was held at the headquarters of Shoura – the Assembly of the Muslim Community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The meeting was attended by the President of Shoura, Jasmin Jahić; the Chief of the Muslim Faith in Luxembourg, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić; the President of the Waqf Foundation, Nermin Rastoder; the Secretary General of Shoura, Lukman Aličković; Shoura member Kerim Aknine; as well as Waqf Foundation members Nadhir Ousseini, Muhammad Khalil and Abdelhamid Hamerras. In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, discussions focused on the work of the Muslim community in Luxembourg, the development of its institutions, and prospects for cooperation in the fields of education, humanitarian action and waqf projects.
At the Gazi Isa-beg Islamic Centre in Esch-sur-Alzette, Professor Dr Ahmed Sabah Nasser Al-Mulla was welcomed by the centre’s imam, Hafiz Zikret Mustafić. After the Isha prayer, the Sheikh delivered a lecture entitled “The Three Prophetic Recommendations”, with a Bosnian translation provided by the Chief of the Muslim Faith in Luxembourg, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić, and a French translation provided by Hafiz Abdelhakim Badaoui. Imams and numerous worshippers attended the lecture. Following the lecture, a convivial gathering with the guest was organised in the centre’s cafeteria, allowing for direct discussions and an exchange of experiences.
During the second day, the guest visited several natural and cultural sites in northern Luxembourg before performing the Dhuhr prayer at the Nordstad Islamic Cultural Centre in Diekirch. On this occasion, he met with Imam Irfan Hasanović and members of the local community, gaining further insight into the activities and work of the centre.
The visit of Professor Dr Ahmed Sabah Nasser Al-Mulla provided a valuable opportunity to gain a closer insight into the work of Shoura and its member associations, while opening new perspectives for cooperation in the fields of religious education, humanitarian action, waqf projects, and the development of the institutions of the Muslim community in Luxembourg.
