Central Khutbah: “The Invocation – A Special Act of Worship by Allah’s Chosen Servants”
When you love someone, take them with you in your celestial messages without them knowing. For true love is an invocation (addressed to Allah).
My little daughter exclaimed, “O Lord, I want rain!” The raindrops began to fall on her innocent face, like pure pearls scattered.
She repeated, “O Lord, make the rain stronger!” And the rain fell harder and harder. The little girl then said, “Thank you!”
She was convinced that what was happening was an immediate and direct response to her invocation. What prevents people from having a perception similar to that of this innocent child? O dear Allah, grant me the conviction and purity of a child’s faith!

Invocation, besides being the heart of worship, is often mentioned as a protection and a weapon for the believer. Invocation is a key element in the daily life of Muslims, and it is especially valuable at certain times, such as on this day of Friday.
Invocation is the Weapon of the Believer
The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Invocation is the weapon of the believer, the pillar of faith, and the light of the heavens and the earth.” (Hakim). This hadith clearly shows that invocation plays a key role in the life of the believer, as a means of protection and strength.
Allah is Ashamed to Turn Away Empty Hands That Invoke Him
The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Indeed, Allah is ashamed to return empty the hands of His servant who has turned to Him.” (Tirmidhi).
The Invocation on Friday
Friday is the most precious day of the week, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, emphasized the importance of invocation on this day. In a hadith, it is said: “There is a moment on Friday, where if a Muslim asks Allah for something, Allah will surely give it to him.” (Bukhari and Muslim). Many scholars believe this moment is between the Asr prayer and sunset. So, take advantage of this precious opportunity!
Invocation Repels Misfortune
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Nothing can repel Allah’s decree except invocation.” (Tirmidhi). This hadith emphasizes the power of invocation to change destiny and protect the believer from trials.
Allah Loves Those Who Frequently Invoke Him
In a hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever wants Allah to respond to his invocations in times of difficulty should invoke Him often in times of ease.” (Tirmidhi). This hadith encourages believers to constantly invoke Allah, regardless of circumstances.
The Invocation in the Last Third of the Night
The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Our Lord, blessed and exalted is He, descends every night to the nearest heaven when the last third of the night remains and says: ‘Who is calling Me, so that I may respond to him? Who is asking Me, so that I may give to him? Who is seeking forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?'” (Bukhari and Muslim).
Invocation Repels Misfortune
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Nothing can change Allah’s decree like invocation.” (Tirmidhi).
Invocation is a distinction! Invocation is spiritual life. Invocation is strength! With invocation comes success!
