Encounters with Scholars – Reception of Sheikh Mustapha el-Gharbi from Morocco (Gallery)
At the headquarters of the Shoura, a reception was organized in honor of Sheikh Mustapha el-Gharbi, who was welcomed by the Muslim religious leader, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić.
The meeting began with a recitation from the Noble Qur’an, recited by the Sheikh himself, giving the moment a strong spiritual dimension. It continued with a presentation of the community and a fraternal exchange on the teaching of the Qur’an, the role of the imam, and the transmission of religious values.
Sheikh Mustapha el-Gharbi is one of the most renowned Qur’an reciters in Morocco. Born in 1964 and blind from birth, he memorized the Qur’an at a very young age and has won numerous national and international competitions. He served for many years as an imam in several mosques in Casablanca, including the Hassan II Mosque. His dedication to serving the Qur’an continues through his son Younous, who is also a distinguished reciter and the winner of the Grand International Competition of Saudi Arabia in 2022.
