Grand Iftar for Muslim Women at Luxexpo (Gallery)

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, a grand iftar for Muslim women in Luxembourg was organized in the main hall of Luxexpo The Box. The event was initiated by the women’s sectors and organized by six mosques in Luxembourg, under the patronage of the Shoura and with the support of the mosque committees. The gathering brought together around nine hundred sisters and took place in a warm, fraternal, and spiritual atmosphere. Beyond the breaking of the fast and the shared meal, this meeting also carried a symbolic dimension, bringing together Muslim women from different mosques across Luxembourg during the blessed month of Ramadan, with the aim of strengthening bonds, cooperation, and shared commitment.

The gathering was also an opportunity to highlight the important role of women in the family and in society, particularly in education and the transmission of values, as well as the importance of Muslim women’s engagement in the life of mosques and the wider community. Authentic hadiths emphasize that the best companionship is that of one’s mother and that the best of believers is the one who is best to his wife. This grand iftar illustrated the spirit of unity and the active contribution of women in community life. The participating mosques were the “Centre Culturel Islamique de Luxembourg” (CCIL), the “Centre Culturel Islamique Nordstad” (CCINS), the “Association Islamique et Culturelle Al Rahma”, the “Centre Islamique et Culturel Berat Luxembourg” (CICBL), the “Centre Islamique au Luxembourg” (CIL), and the “Association Islamique de Luxembourg” (AIL). We ask God to reward all those who contributed to the preparation and organization of this event and that such gatherings continue to be a source of unity and goodness for the Muslim men and women of Luxembourg.
