The Shoura Organized a Conference on the Challenges Facing Muslim Youth (Gallery)

A conference for young people entitled “The Challenges Facing Muslim Youth” was held on Friday, December 12, 2025, after the Isha prayer, at the premises of the “Centre Culturel Islamique Nordstad” (CCINS) in Diekirch. The event, organized by the Shoura, brought together around one hundred young men and women.

At the beginning of the program, the imam of the “Centre Culturel Islamique Nordstad”, Irfan ef. Hasanović, greeted the attendees, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, and welcomed all participants. The evening then opened with a recitation from the Qur’an, delivered by Jusuf Kojić, a young student of the hifz circle at the Gazi Isa-beg Mosque.

The structure of the presentations and the objectives of the gathering were briefly outlined by the Secretary of the Shoura, who is also responsible for the youth sector within the Shoura, Damir Dino Adrović. Prior to the lectures, a short brainstorming session was held on the challenges faced by young people. Through a live online poll, several key themes emerged and were then addressed in greater detail by the speakers: Hafiz Hilmija ef. Redžić (Muslim Religious Leader), Hafiz Sead ef. Subašić (Imam of the CCIL mosque), and Hafiz Abdelhakim Badaoui. Each speaker, within a ten-minute presentation, offered clear guidance, motivation, and practical suggestions for dealing with the challenges of the contemporary environment.

The presentations were followed by an interactive session featuring questions, comments, and ideas from the audience. Among the most notable challenges highlighted were moderation and balance in all aspects of life, communication and understanding with elders, performing prayers in schools, the issue of the hijab in society and ways to break down stereotypes, challenges related to health, behavior, and upbringing, as well as presenting Islam in its true light.

The event concluded with a friendly gathering and light refreshments. What left a particularly strong impression on many participants was the sense of warmth and togetherness felt through the interactions and conversations with the youth.
