“Together, we continue to work towards improving the quality of religious life in Luxembourg” – this is the message from the religious leader and the imams

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, the second meeting between the religious leader, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić, and the imams of our mosques in Luxembourg took place. The central theme of the meeting was the strategic position, plan, work program, and the overall vision of the community for the future. The religious leader presented a document to the imams covering these topics, followed by an in-depth discussion during the meeting on how to implement these objectives. The intensified collaboration among mosques is the starting point for additional positive changes, according to the imams and the religious leader. The first outcome of this community collaboration will be experienced early in February: on February 3, 2024, the Supreme Council of Muslims in Luxembourg – Shoura – organizes a central Quran Evening in Luxembourg, with the participation of representatives from all mosques in our community, reciting passages from the Quran. Two expert reciters (hafiz) are also planned, one Arabic and the other Bosnian. Recently, a young man who grew up in Luxembourg achieved the title of Quranic hafiz, and he will be recognized during this evening. Islamic associations in Luxembourg will welcome the month of Ramadan with special Quranic reciters who will leave an impact on the hearts of believers. Many projects are in preparation under the guidance of imams and the religious leader, all with the aim of improving the quality of religious life in Luxembourg, while maintaining the already high level of quality.
