Announcement on the Nisab Amount for Zakat in 2025
The Nisab represents the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must possess before becoming obligated to pay Zakat. This threshold is determined by the value of 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver. Based on market prices as of February 26, 2025, the Nisab values are as follows:
• Gold value (87.48 g): approximately €7,815.50 (based on a gold price of €89.30 per gram, source: goldprice.org)
• Silver value (612.36 g): approximately €596.98 (based on a silver price of €0.9742 per gram, source: silverprice.org)
It is recommended that believers check the current gold and silver prices before giving Zakat.
We remind that Zakat is an obligation for every Muslim who possesses wealth above the Nisab threshold for a full lunar year. The Zakat amount is 2.5% of the total wealth exceeding the Nisab.
May Allah accept our acts of worship and Zakat.
