An Inclusion Project in Shoura Member Mosques
Founded in 2008, the Paris Eglantine Institute’s mission is to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities by facilitating their access to culture, knowledge, and education. The Institute operates from a clear conviction: the inclusion of people with disabilities is a collective responsibility.
With this perspective in mind, an important project was carried out in collaboration with the Shoura — the Assembly of the Muslim Community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg — with the aim of making Braille copies of the Qur’an available in all mosques affiliated with the Shoura.
The objective of this project is to enable people who are visually impaired or blind to access the text of the Noble Qur’an directly and to read it independently. The Braille Qur’an consists of seven volumes written in Braille script, in accordance with the Hafs recitation, thus ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of the Qur’anic text.
The realization of this project was made possible thanks to the expertise of the Paris Eglantine Institute, as well as the support of the Waqf Lëtzebuerg Foundation, whose continued commitment to educational and inclusive initiatives contributed decisively to its successful implementation.
Through this initiative, the Shoura reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, equal access to religious resources, and the development of places of worship that are open and accessible to all members of the community.
