Plenary Meeting of the Shoura, Mosque Presidents, the Religious Leader, and Imams (Gallery)
On November 10, 2024, a plenary meeting of the members of the Shoura, imams, mosques’ presidents, the religious leader of Luxembourg’s Muslims and the Waqf Foundation was held at the “Centre Culturel Islamique Nordstad” in Diekirch. Several important topics were addressed with the goal of improving collaboration and strengthening the community’s situation.
The president of the Shoura, Jasmin Jahić, gave a detailed presentation on the budget spending for the current year, with a focus on the period from March to November. The aim of this presentation was to transparently inform attendees of the financial status and future planned budget allocations.
Following this important point, a report from the working group responsible for standardizing and improving the statutes was presented.
Preparations for the upcoming Ramadan were also discussed, including the sending of invitations and the coordination of iftars between mosques to harmonize Ramadan activities on a regional level.
This plenary session was also marked by a significant decision: the establishment of a youth section within the Shoura. The working group proposed to set up this section for young people aged 16 to 26, with the goal of further engaging them in community activities and preparing them for leadership roles in the future.
The organization of the World Arabic Language Day was also announced: it will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Additionally, a unified calendar for Luxembourg was presented, along with details on its distribution across all mosques.
