Seminar on the Importance of Waqf (Gallery)

The first seminar of the Waqf Lëtzebuerg Foundation, entitled “Waqf: A Social Enterprise at the Service of the Community”, was held on October 12 and 13, 2024, in the conference hall of Kinepolis in Kirchberg. During the opening of the seminar, the Mufti and religious leader Hafiz Hilmija Redžić, accompanied by Secretary-General Lukman Aličković, warmly welcomed the speaker and participants.

The main speaker of the seminar was the esteemed Sheikh Dr. Faizal Ahmad Manjoo, an expert in Islamic finance with a PhD in this field. His academic career includes teaching at several European universities, and he has trained high-level government and business officials from central banks, ministries, and large companies in many countries. Additionally, Sheikh Dr. Manjoo is a lawyer and renowned Sharia advisor, known for assisting international companies in complying with Islamic financial principles. His contributions include developing numerous Islamic financial products, and he is currently working on projects such as Islamic pension funds and public sector food security programs.

During the seminar, participants were introduced to strategies aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of Islamic associations and Waqf, as well as fundraising techniques. Special emphasis was placed on programs that motivate people to engage collectively in volunteer activities, which are essential for strengthening the community.

Through interactive sessions, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences about the challenges faced by Islamic organizations in this context. The seminar attracted representatives from Luxembourg mosques, who actively participated in the discussions and workshops.

According to the organizers, the seminar was a great success. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the content and organization, further solidifying the role of the Waqf Lëtzebuerg Foundation as an important pillar of support for the local community.

Visit to the Shoura Headquarters

After the seminar, Sheikh Dr. Faizal Ahmad Manjoo, accompanied by a Waqf delegation led by its president Nadhmi Amouri, visited the Shoura headquarters. The Shoura delegation was composed of the religious leader Hafiz Hilmija Redžić and Secretary-General Lukman Aličković. During this meeting, they discussed the future development of Waqf, concluding that Waqf would evolve into a development foundation with long-term humanitarian goals.
