The Muslim religious leader of the Grand Duchy, Hafiz Hilmija ef. Redžić, took part in the traditional TE DEUM ceremony held in Luxembourg on the occasion of the National Day, June 23, as part of the official celebrations.
The ceremony took place at the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg, in the presence of the Grand Ducal family, high-ranking state representatives, and numerous dignitaries.
It is worth noting that this edition of the TE DEUM may be the last celebrated in the presence of Grand Duke Henri, making the moment all the more symbolic and historic.
Hafiz Redžić recited the opening chapter of the Qur’an, Surah Al-Fatiha, along with a translation of its meaning in German. Regarded as the most precious chapter of the Qur’an, it encapsulates the essence of the Qur’anic message and leaves a profound spiritual impression on those who listen and reflect.
As part of the National Day festivities, several official receptions were also held, including at the Luxembourg Philharmonie, in the municipality of Esch-sur-Alzette, and at the synagogues of Esch and Luxembourg. The TE DEUM at the Cathedral was also among these events.
All of these ceremonies were attended by the president of the Shoura, Mr. Jasmin Jahić, the religious leader, as well as several members of the Shoura, marking the commitment of Muslim institutions to the civic life and traditions of the country.
