World Arabic Language Day Celebrated in Luxembourg (Gallery)

On Saturday, 20 December 2025, at the Cultural Center Tramsschapp in Luxembourg, the Shoura – Assembly of the Muslim Community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg organized a family-oriented event to mark World Arabic Language Day.

The program began at 2:00 p.m. with the reception of visitors, followed by a period of open activities and content designed for both adults and children. Throughout the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to visit various stands, take part in accompanying workshops, and discover a portion of the rich cultural and educational offerings related to the Arabic language.

In the evening segment of the program, the President of the Shoura addressed the audience, expressing a warm welcome and gratitude to all guests, partners, and volunteers who contributed to the organization of the event. This was followed by an address from the Muslim religious leader, who highlighted the special value of the Arabic language as the language of the Qur’an, knowledge, and the cultural heritage of Muslims, as well as the importance of learning and preserving it through structured work with children and youth.

A special touch was added to the event by the performance of the vocal group “Naghm Alsharq,” whose renditions brought additional warmth and a festive atmosphere to the occasion. Subsequently, Hafiz Abdelhakim Badaoui addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of linking language, identity, and spiritual values, and the need for the community to invest in educational projects that strengthen a culture of learning.

The closing address was delivered by Professor Dženan ef. Kamešničanin, who, through a clear and well-structured presentation, spoke about the role of the Arabic language in understanding the sources of faith, building Muslim scholarship, preserving identity, and the importance of learning Arabic in the contemporary European context.

The event concluded at 8:00 p.m. with thanks extended to all attendees for their presence and support, along with a message that the Shoura will continue, in the period ahead, to develop programs that promote language learning, education, and training, while strengthening ties within the Muslim community and its contribution to society as a whole.
