Iftar for New Muslims in Luxembourg (Gallery)

The Shoura – the Assembly of the Muslim Community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg – organized an iftar dedicated to new Muslim men and women, held on March 15, 2026, in the Verainshaus hall in Limpertsberg. This gathering was an opportunity to share a convivial moment, get to know one another, and strengthen ties within the Muslim community.

The program was hosted by Michael Bruppacher and began with a recitation of the Qur’an by Hafiz Erayyan Errahaoui. The President of the Shoura then addressed the attendees with a welcome speech. Claudio (Sufyan) Clori introduced Hafiz Huzeyfa, who recited several verses from the Qur’an and briefly shared the story of how Islam was embraced in his family, as well as his own journey in memorizing the Qur’an.

Later in the program, the Muslim Religious Leader of Muslims in Luxembourg, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić, delivered a speech. In his message, he emphasized the special value of new Muslims for the community. He highlighted that they represent renewal and new energy, as well as symbols of freedom, since choosing Islam is done freely and consciously. He also recalled the Qur’anic message that there is no compulsion in religion and stressed that the Muslim community, imams, and mosques are always available to support new Muslims.

During the evening, Claudio (Sufyan) Clori presented a project by a group of converts, while Hafiz Abdelhakim Badaoui spoke about his work program and support for new Muslims, outlining various ways of guidance and integration into community life.

The program was further enriched by the performance of nasheeds by Mohammed Dayekh, who also called the adhan (call to prayer) before the communal iftar. The gathering took place in a warm and brotherly atmosphere, confirming the importance of supporting new members of the Muslim community and their active role within it.
