Second Qur’anic Gathering for Women Organized by the Shoura (Gallery)

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the second Qur’anic gathering for women, organized by the Shoura – the Assembly of the Muslim Community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg – was held at the Tramsschapp Cultural Center in Luxembourg.

The event brought together women from various mosques across the country, with the aim of strengthening bonds and gathering around the Book of Allah. The evening was dedicated to the recitation of the Qur’an, the exchange of spiritual messages, and reflections on the role of the Muslim woman in contemporary society.

The program began with a speech by the moderator, Emira Mehić, followed by addresses from the president of the Shoura, Jasmin Jahić, and the religious leader, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić. Two hafizahs then spoke: Džejlana Sakić in Bosnian and English, and Sanaa El-Brihi in French and Arabic. Their messages focused on the woman’s relationship with the Qur’an and the spiritual responsibility she carries within the community.

The following representatives participated in the program: Amra Jusufović (CCIL), Alessia Selmani (CCINS), Medina Ramdedović (AIWL), Elif Muharemović (CIL), Tayba Raghib (Afnane), Amra Šaipi (Gazi Isa-beg), Naila Jusufović (AIL), Ramia Khir Douis (Rahma), Natouf Tasnim and Sanela Hadžimejlić (LJM), Aidena Džonović (Medina), Selma Kočan (CICBL Berat), Malika al-Youssoufi (CCIB Bettembourg), and Salma Taousse (Quds).

Sisters Sajma Kočan and Ajlin Batilović from CICBL Berat performed nasheeds, followed by a performance by the children’s choir from the mekteb of the Contern mosque, further enriching the evening’s program.

One of the evening’s highlights was a staged presentation in traditional dress, performed by a group of young girls from the Gazi Isa-beg mosque. This performance beautifully combined elements of spirituality and identity through movement and symbolism.

The evening concluded with a convivial gathering over refreshments. The organizers expressed their gratitude to all the participants for their contributions, seriousness, and dedication, emphasizing that such gatherings strengthen the role of women in preserving the faith and the shared spiritual heritage of Muslims in Luxembourg.
