The Shoura’s Central Iftar Brought Together Representatives of the Muslim Community in Luxembourg (Gallery)

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the Vereinshaus hall in Limpertsberg hosted the central iftar organized by the Shoura – the Assembly of the Muslim Community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The gathering brought together leaders of the Muslim community, representatives of mosques, and several Islamic organizations active in Luxembourg, including the Waqf Foundation, the Observatory of Islamophobia, the IREDI Institute, and other structures engaged within the Muslim community. The event was an opportunity to honor their voluntary commitment and to express deep gratitude for their contribution to social cohesion and the development of the Muslim community in the country. The iftar was also held in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Faruk Kaymakcı. The evening began with a recitation of the Qur’an by Hafiz Yusuf Al-Migbari.

After the recitation, the President of the Shoura, Jasmin Jahić, welcomed the guests and thanked all those who assume responsibilities within the community and who, through their dedication, contribute to strengthening the Muslim community of Luxembourg and enabling it to meet the challenges ahead. He was followed by Feghoul Ouahab, a member of the Shoura and coordinator of the working group in charge of events, who presented the main activities organized by the Shoura and explained how they are carried out. He also expressed particular gratitude to the many volunteers whose commitment made it possible to organize this iftar and many other community events.

The Religious Leader of the Muslim community in Luxembourg, Hafiz Hilmija ef. Redžić, then addressed the audience. He reminded attendees that serving Islam and the Muslim community is both an honor and a responsibility. Referring to the words of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding responsibility toward the community, he emphasized that those who assume responsibilities should strive to make things easier for people and serve with sincerity. He also recalled the Qur’anic call to action and engagement, stressing that the strength of the community lies in sincere effort, unity, and a strong sense of responsibility. Quoting the well-known saying of the scholar Al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad, he noted that when those in positions of responsibility improve themselves, the entire community improves. He concluded with a supplication asking God to preserve the unity of the Muslim community and to bless the work of the Shoura.

The program continued with a melodious performance of a Ramadan nasheed by Mohammed Dayekh, who concluded his performance by announcing the time of iftar with the adhan. After the call to prayer and the collective breaking of the fast, the evening continued in a warm and friendly atmosphere, marked by conversations and meetings among participants, before concluding with additional nasheeds.
