Visit to the Gazi Isa-beg Islamic Center in Esch-sur-Alzette

Mosques in Luxembourg offer a wide range of activities with significant participation from the Muslim community. In addition to Friday prayers and daily prayers, mosques provide classes for children, weekly lectures, Quran recitation sessions, and various activities tailored to the needs of the faithful.
To support these quality activities, the religious leader of Muslims in Luxembourg, Hafiz Hilmija Redžić, continues his series of unannounced visits. This weekend, the visit covered the Gazi Isa-beg Islamic Center in Esch-sur-Alzette. The center is named after the renowned hero Isa-beg, founder of two major cities: Sarajevo and Skopje, as well as the cities of Novi Pazar and Šabac. He established the famous Gazi Isa-beg medresa in Novi Pazar, from which generations of new scholars of Islamic sciences still emerge, including our religious leader, Hafiz Redžić.

The imam of this mosque is the esteemed Hafiz Zikret Mustafić, born in Novi Pazar, the city founded by Gazi Isa-beg. He has been working diligently for many years as the imam of this mosque.
The mosque offers a wide range of activities, from regular Quran recitation sessions, classes for children, regular weekly lectures, sports activities to frequent informal gatherings with quality discussions and snacks available in the center’s cafeteria, which stands out with its unique style. What distinguishes this center are the platforms where guest speakers give lectures. This weekend, special guests were the honorable Hafiz Dr. Rusmir Čoković and his wife Hafiza Hanka Vlahovljak, author of two renowned books, “Emancipation” and “Transformation of the Soul”. The program was filled with quality presentations. Dr. Čoković, an expert in hadith, this time reminded believers of the beauty of knowledge about angels offered by the words of Allah and the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). “It is beautiful when we gather in a place of assembly because the angels are with us,” said Dr. Čoković. Such lectures are extremely well-attended and well-organized.

This Friday, the center will host another speaker, Mr. Sead Islamović, the imam of Hadži Mehova Mosque in Novi Pazar, who captivates his audience with his speeches and gathers hundreds or even thousands of listeners.
