Shoura organizes a gathering dedicated to Muslim youth (Gallery)
On Sunday, 5 July 2026, after the Asr prayer, Shoura organized a youth gathering at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Luxembourg (CCIL) in Mamer. The aim of this meeting was to provide young people with a space for reflection, discussion, and guidance regarding the spiritual, moral, and social challenges they face today.
The programme was conducted in German and English, allowing a larger number of young people to participate actively. The talks were delivered by Hafiz Hilmija ef. Redžić, Religious Leader of the Muslim community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Hafiz Sead ef. Subašić, imam of the CCIL mosque, and Sheikh Duljko Skenderović, imam in Zurich and special guest of this gathering.
The speakers addressed several challenges present in contemporary society, including the gradual distancing from faith, the loss of moral guidance, the pressure of social expectations, identity confusion, negative influences, and the difficulty of maintaining a living connection with Allah in an environment often characterized by distraction and superficiality.
Special attention was given to the issue of social media, which can be beneficial when used responsibly but can become harmful when it occupies the heart, consumes time, weakens modesty, encourages constant comparison, spreads misinformation, or exposes young people to content contrary to Islamic values.
The young participants were encouraged to develop a conscious and responsible approach to digital platforms: to carefully choose what they watch, control the time they spend online, avoid unnecessary controversies, protect their gaze, preserve their dignity, and remember that every word, image, or piece of content they share leaves a trace before Allah.
The central message of the gathering was clear: preserving one’s faith does not only mean identifying external dangers, but first and foremost strengthening one’s own heart, building a stronger relationship with Allah, maintaining the prayer, seeking good companionship, learning about one’s religion, and developing a balanced, aware, and responsible personality.
At the end of the presentations, the young participants had the opportunity to engage with the speakers, ask questions, and share their concerns in a warm and brotherly atmosphere. The gathering continued with a friendly BBQ.
Shoura expresses its gratitude to the CCIL for its hospitality, to the speakers for their valuable advice, and to all the young participants who attended this gathering.
May Allah protect our youth, guide them towards goodness, and preserve them from the visible and hidden trials of our time.
